Accounting Supervisor - Business Services

Lawrence, MA ONSITE REQUIRED

Salary: $120,000 annually + Bonus Potential

Full Time, Permanent

We are seeking an Accounting Supervisor to join our growing team and serve as a key link between leadership and staff accountants. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supporting a full-service outsourced CFO group that manages all aspects of accounting for multiple clients.

You will oversee complex, multi-entity accounting operations, provide analytical insight, and help develop junior staff while taking ownership of financial reporting and reconciliations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • CPA or CPA-track required
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (including supervisory responsibilities).
  • Corporate accounting background; public accounting experience a plus.
  • Expert level management of General Ledger, Financial Statements, Balance Sheet Reconciliations and GAAP compliance.
  • Oversee monthly close processes, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Advanced Excel QuickBooks and ERP platforms
  • Solid command of payroll processes and journal entries.
  • Industry Experience: Manufacturing and nonprofit experience preferred; familiarity with Form 990 a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage general ledger, financial statements, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Oversee monthly close processes, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Supervise and mentor 2 direct reports (Senior Associate and Associate).
  • Handle payroll journal entries, debits/credits, and ensure accuracy across multi-state payroll (including commissions, contract work, and loyalty payments).
  • Collaborate with clients regularly; strong communication and relationship-building skills required.
  • Identify and resolve accounting issues; ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex problems.
  • Work closely with leadership to streamline processes and reduce operational bottlenecks.
